Enzo Jannacci: The Bard of the Poor
๐ฎ๐น transcription (ยฉRAI)
3 giugno 1935, nasce a Milano Enzo Jannacci. Cresciuto nei cabaret milanesi, Jannacci si appassiona di musica mentre studia medicina allโuniversitร di Milano. Allโinizio della sua carriera, Jannacci fonda un duo insieme allโamico fraterno Giorgio Gaber: โI due corsariโ. Nel 1963 Jannacci inizia ad esibirsi al Derby, noto locale milanese di cabaret. Nel corso della sua lunghissima carriera, Jannacci incide 30 album e alcune delle sue canzoni sono diventate dei classici: โVengo anchโio no tu noโ, โVeronicaโ, โQuelli cheโฆโ. Jannacci si spegne a Milano il 29 marzo del 2013.
Jannacci was a celebrated Italian singer-songwriter, pianist, actor, and comedian. Known as "il cantore dei poveri cristi" [the bard of the poor souls], Jannacci's work often depicted the lives of the marginalized and downtrodden in Italian society. His songs, rich with humor and compassion, painted vivid portraits of the struggles and resilience of the "poveri cristi" he so poignantly sang about.
Jannacci's music blended jazz, cabaret, and folk influences, and his collaborations with other Italian artists like Giorgio Gaber and Adriano Celentano were pivotal in the evolution of Italian popular music. One of his most famous songs, "El portava i scarp del tennis," [he wore sneakers] tells the story of a homeless man who dies unnoticed, capturing the essence of Jannacci's empathetic artistry and his focus on the lives of the poor and forgotten.
